Summer Harvest

I have a small patio with a garden of potted plants, as well as, a small plot of land in the front. I make the most out of it. I have several herbs growing and some leafy greens like arugula and lettuce. Sometimes, I get the chance to grow more hearty items. This year, I grew cucumbers, potatoes, corn and heirloom carrots. They all came out gorgeous.

I'm Growing Potatoes!

I just pulled this little baby from the ground today. They are Russian Banana Fingerling Potatoes. I got into more than I knew growing potatoes. More on that to come soon...

My Favorite Scent

Oh the sweet scent of the Champaca Alba aka Michelia Tree. It smells incredible. I'm so fortunate to have one in my neighborhood that I try to pass everyday on my  way to Sunset Junction. I can smell it a block away. These are the fragrant flowers of the Champaca Alba.

Bok Choy from the Garden

Bok choy is a delicious leafy green. I like to lightly stir fry it with a splash of oyster sauce, soy sauce and garlic in sesame seed oil.

Sunbathing in LA

Everyone likes a little sun to warm up. My friend, the nocturnal garden spider,  came out today to catch some rays in the Southern California sun.

I ate ate a baby Asian Pear my friend Kimmy gave me grown from a friend's tree. It was so small, but so tasty. Sweet. Crunchy. Refreshing.
